StormReady Community
The National Weather Service certified UTampa as a StormReady community. UTampa is one of 290 colleges and universities around the country that have put special operations in place to monitor and react to severe weather conditions, such as hurricanes, tornadoes and storms.

The Emergency Operations Team will announce closings and other weather-related communications via this section of the University's website, global emails, text messaging and voicemail messages.
The University offers a free emergency text messaging service to students, faculty and staff. This service will only be used in campus emergency situations. Details and frequently asked questions can be found at Spartan mobiles Alert (SMART).
